Karina Ioffee is a reporter living in the San Francisco Bay Area whose work has appeared in Reuters, the New York Daily News, the Associated Press, Huffington Post and Patch, among others.
Karina began her career in Tucson, Arizona, as a reporter for the Arizona Daily Star. She later was a staff reporter for The (Stockton) Record in California’s Central Valley, where she wrote about crime, gangs, immigration and farm workers. She has also worked as a freelancer in Cuba, Mexico and Spain.
In 2009, Karina won first place from the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club for an investigative article in SF Weekly about a Bay Area real estate agent who defrauded families out of more than $1 million. She was also the recipient of the Overseas Press Club award in 2010 for reporting from Russia, the Donald Reynolds Scholarship for Business Reporting from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and several others.
