Karina Ioffee is a multimedia journalist whose work has appeared in Reuters, the New York Daily News, Associated Press and Agence France Presse (AFP), among others.
Karina began her career in Tucson, Arizona, as a reporter for the Arizona Daily Star and later was a staff reporter for The (Stockton) Record in California’s Central Valley, where she wrote about crime, gangs, immigration and farm workers. Karina has also reported on underground businesses in Cuba, indigenous movements in Mexico and immigrants in Spain.
In 2009, she won first place from the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club for an investigative article in SF Weekly about a real estate agent who defrauded families out of more than $1 million. She was also the recipient of the Overseas Press Club in 2010 for reporting from Russia, Excellence in Reporting award from the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate School of Journalism, among others.
